Dry Stone Walling

Father, from a long line of farmers in this Weslh valley, demonstrates dry stone walling skills to his daughter and son. The wall provides the enclosure which assists in the provision of high standards of grazing management and farm profitability, as well as giving the British uplands their distinctive character, sought out by tourists. Cattle and sheep shleter close to these walls in bad weather, depositing dung and urine for insects. Birds nest safely within the wall which gives good protection from some 26 predator species, with close access to their insect food.
